Proverbs 1:20-24 NLT
Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention. You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.
To whom it may concern, this is The Lord of Heavens Armies reaching out to every soldier that has been enlisted in his army to re-engage themselves in the fight for our lives. We did not choose this call, for we had no prior knowledge of this enrollment into God’s militia.
As many are called but few are chosen.
It is to our benefit that this call was made to us as many are fighting demons, are fighting themselves and their addictions aimlessly with destruction being the end goal.
We live in a world, where the believers have become creatures of consequence, instead of creators of circumstances.
In other words, as revivalists we can only revive according to the truth that we have been given which stems from God who has delivered us from a state of oppression like the Israelites of old. Yet, once we are liberated; this short-lived liberation is not enough to sustain our faith if it is not supplemented with moral excellences like godliness and brotherly love.
Unfortunately, all to soon we forget what we have been taught as distractions, enemies and antagonists get in the way of our growth.
Hence, our commanding officer has to cold call us again to sell us on a product that we were already cognizant of.
A creator of circumstance, likens to a soldier who is looking to please his commanding officer at all cost by bringing back casualties and prisoners of this world into the next. In the secular world, when a soldier is deployed to a country it is an honour to represent his or her country. These individuals have been sent there on an assignment. In the same vein as believers, we have been deployed on Earth to bring prisoners and causalities of War to Heaven.
2 Corinthians 2:15-16, states,
Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?
This is the mantle that we have been given!
Now, this is easier said then done as a myriad of soldiers have been wounded in battle. As a result, these soldiers have been sidelined for some time without any motivation to come back on the battlefield. Some have entangled themselves in webs of pride, deceit, while others love with the affairs of the spirit has grown cold.
It is to our benefit to repent by turning back to God so restoration can ensue.
Our disobedience has hurt God and as a result he has disciplined us but healing is imminent.
Hosea 6:2, He has injured us, now he will bandage our wounds
Secular world soldiers, see it as a privilege to fight for their countries. Soldiers always have to be engaged in warfare which means to be married to the mission. Although, there are times where the hardships of this life get in the way. As believers. our marriage to Christ has not always held us back from fooling around with the world.
Many believers do not value the rules and regulations of their God-given assignment.
As a Kingdom man, I can admit that it has not always been easy to stay on the straight and narrow. Sexual immorality and lustful passions are like grenades that are bound to explode leaving us at the mercy of its ramifications.
At a point in time in my life, I thought that I could lead the charge in this generation as a revivalist and still satisfy my desires but it served as a distraction and an antagonist to my growth. I was in a relationship with a person that was not hell bent on reviving this generation but through no fault of her own she had declined the call.
As a result, it became a point of contention in our relationship. Eventually I had to make a choice, whether to be subjected to the onslaught of my immorality which was making the enemy’s job easier or to detach myself from that relationship to help my brothers and sisters on the battlefield.
At the time, it was a difficult choice, to make but now I see that God had bigger plans for my life. Therefore, it is incumbent for the men of this generation not to allow our sexuality to govern our ability to revive. As we might become cold to the call.
Furthermore, pride and lack of vulnerability are also enemies of revival.
As a man, if you are the highest level of wisdom in your life, you will become your own worst enemy.
As a matter of fact, God held the word above himself.
Therefore, our pride cannot usurp the Word of God.
Pride is the biggest enemy of progress, as it deceives us to think that we can do it without God. Even Christ, who was fully man and fully God gave up his place of preeminence and stature to come down as a man to do the will of the Father. He also prayed to the Father in times of need and distress. In a nutshell, Christ took a back seat, so humanity could take a front seat. Ultimately, he was able to fulfill the purpose for which he came down.
Therefore, genuine humility will always produce revival.
Finally, lack of vulnerability has served as a thorn in the side of our men. Our society has created an illusionary construct of men that are rough around the edges, never showing emotion and always leading while never being led. Some would think that Christ was woman, because he was angry at the money changers and merchants which led to him flip tables. Christ was a man, because he was willing to die for the people that he loved, even if that it that love was unrequited. He wept before entering Jerusalem, not as a sign of weakness but of love and compassion rooted in strength.
It is my prayers that we draw from Christ’s example, as we seek to revive this generation and beyond. In Jesus name.
