Me: “Oh…shoot they blocked me?!”
Me: “But why, what exactly did I do to them?”
Also Me: “Hmm, wow…I guess it is what it is.”
Let’s face it…
The overwhelming feeling that takes over you when you discover that you’ve been blocked by a friend, sibling, influencer, sports star, co-worker, parent, or ex can be pretty demoralizing to say the least.
Nobody wants to face the fact that they have been denied access to the people they love, trust, care for, and look up to.
Well, let’s face it again…it flat out hurts.
It hurts knowing that the person on the other end has intentionally decided that they no longer want to have a relationship with you anymore—and you can’t do anything in your power to stop it.
It hurts knowing that this person no longer wants to see you, feel your presence or hear your voice.
It hurts knowing that they no longer want to engage with you on social media, correspond via email or pick up your calls.
Listen, when you’ve been blocked, you’ve been blocked period!
And in this day and age, the saying goes that, “no one is above blocking!”
When you’ve been blocked, it’s safe to say, it’s like you no longer carry value and importance in the life of somebody you consider valuable and important.
Ouch hey? …
I hope I’m not resurrecting any past ill-feelings here…
But, can we get just a little bit more real about blocking somebody for a moment?
Especially…when that very person we’ve blocked is God?
Like I said…
I don’t wanna resurrect any ill-feelings you might associate with being blocked or having blocked someone else …
But, for the next several weeks, I am on a mission to (prayerfully and by His grace) help you revive your potentially lifeless, dead, and blocked off relationship with God.
Yeah, you read that right…
Our generation is enduring a crisis in which our relationships with God are LIFELESS, DEAD and 99.99% of the time… BLOCKED OFF.
Many of us have come to Christ alright …
Yet, year after year and decade after decade, our relationship with the one who loves us the most consistently remains void of vibrancy, energy and more importantly…CONNECTION.
And it’s interesting because …
Most of us want connection to the things of God but we don’t want connection to God.
We want connection to His miracles, signs, wonders, and breakthroughs.
We want to be connected to favour, wisdom, destiny helpers, and the many manifold blessings He gives us.
We want LIFE but we don’t want the GIVER OF LIFE.
Truth be told, we’re a generation that is no different than the people of Israel.
Israel knew of a God that was willing to help them. The same God that we serve today.
God rescued them, nourished them, planted them and even prospered them…but yet, even after all of that…God still found Himself, what?
God was silenced.
Heck…his number wasn’t even saved!
Israel gave God NO CALLER ID.
No matter how many ways, methods, and times God tried to contact Israel He simply didn’t get through to them.
In Isaiah 65:1-4, we see God’s attempts at wanting to intervene in the life Israel and give them a prosperous life but Israel was far too stubborn and kept God on block:
1 I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help.
I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me.
I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’
to a nation that did not call on my name.
2 All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people.
But they follow their own evil paths
and their own crooked schemes.
3 All day long they insult me to my face
by worshiping idols in their sacred gardens.
They burn incense on pagan altars.
4 At night they go out among the graves,
worshiping the dead.
They eat the flesh of pigs
and make stews with other forbidden foods.
What a people, hey?
Yet, the beautiful thing about God is that every time Israel came back to their senses and decided they wanted to re-connect with their Maker, He always made Himself AVAILABLE.
The line was never permanently cut.
The relationship was never permanently severed.
The same is true with us today.
If we are willing and ready to unblock God, despite our past disappointments, hurts, pains, wounds, that have led us to switch off God’s CALLER ID …
He is more than ready and willing to revive your relationship with Him.
Not gonna keep you round’ too long today…
But I just wanna leave you with this…
God is calling you my friend…
And it’s due time you answer.
Will you answer?
Until next time,
