If you haven’t already guessed by now…
God needs you.
People most definitely need God.
You, for sure need God.
But, God—the all knowing, all powerful, always present God—needs you.
You wanna know something?
You and I are tinkering between a very delicate time in history.
We are sweeping away the last days and the stage is being set for us to one day spend eternity with Jesus.
When that hour is? I don’t know.
When that day is? I don’t know.
When that year is? I don’t know.
But what I do know is that, as time passes and the spoken Word of God continues to unfold right before our eyes, we can be certain that Jesus (the only Way, Truth, and Life) is coming back.
He is coming back for His bride. He is coming back for his church. He is coming back for you and me.
There’s a praise song that I love singing anytime the worship leader raises it at church.
The lyrics say:
“These are the days of Elijah,
Declaring the word of the Lord
And these are the days of Your servant Moses,
Righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial,
Of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord!”
Behold He comes riding on the clouds,
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call,
Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee,
And out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.”
If you grew up in church, you are probably familiar with this powerful song of declaration.
In fact, everybody is always elated, out of their seat, clapping their hands, when this song of praise is lifted and sung.
In the moment, you truly do feel as though you’re a force to be reckoned with…
You might even feel that nothing can stop you from declaring to whole world that Jesus Christ is King.
It’s crazy because…
We often sing songs like this in church, with so much conviction in our hearts, as though we’re pledging our allegiance to be the voice that God needs to tell the world He loves them and is coming back one day.
Once we leave the church building, the song of praise appears to leave our memory also.
The deep-seated conviction we initially had to tell the world about Christ, seems to erode beneath our superficial cravings to not look so “Jesus-freaky,” in our various spheres of influence.
Our voices once lifted, are now…not as loud.
And, our mics? Muted.
That the only place we want to be a voice is in an arena where we know the sound of our message will be accepted.
Certainly, God did not create you to keep mute.
And, he most certainly did not design for your voice and the message of salvation He has given you, to remain confined to the four walls of your church.
You are destined to be a voice and you are destined to be a voice for Christ everywhere.
You don’t gotta be a pastor,
You don’t gotta be a prophet,
You don’t gotta be some great, big man or woman of God,
But, you do gotta be a VOICE.
You do have to be a witness.
Acts 1:8 (MSG) says,
“And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.”
I’ve said throughout this series that, destiny, very plainly, is Heaven’s expectation of you.
It is expected of you and I that once we accept Christ and make him the sole proprietor of our lives, we in turn become the sacrifice, the burnt offering, the living epistle.
Offering up every ounce of our lives to do the work He has assigned specifically for us to do.
And apart of that work is,
BEING THE VOICE!
BEING THE WITNESS!
BEING THE ONE who tells other people about your personal encounter with Christ so that others can also be saved!
Think about it this way…
If you keep mute, if you keep silent, if you keep quiet..
WHO will be saved?
WHO will be resuced?
WHO will be transformed?
WHO will be impacted?
When you consider all this, do you see the many destinies that are potentially hanging off your OBEDIENCE?
Do you see how many destinies can potentially be hijacked and aborted because you’ve chosen to stay silent about your God?
Your voice doesn’t need to be on stage before you declare the salvation of Jesus.
Your voice doesn’t need a social media platform before you declare His unfailing love and tender mercies.
Your voice just simply needs to do the very thing it was designed to do,
And that is to…S-P-E-A-K!
Speak up at home..
Speak up at school..
Speak up in your Uber..
Speak up at your workplace..
Speak up in the Starbucks line-up..
God is looking for those who will be unashamed and unafraid to declare Him in the WILDERNESS of this wicked, dark, and perverse generation.
Your destiny is BIGGER than you. Your assignment is BIGGER than you.
Your destiny doesn’t stop at you amassing wealth, prestige, and influence.
But, it ends at you having WON dying souls back into the Kingdom of God for a lifetime!
You have been mandated as John the Baptist was mandated to say,
“I am The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
Make straight the way of the Lord.”
God needs you.
The clock is ticking.
Now is the hour, to arise, and join the winning side.
Souls are counting on you.
God is counting on you.
I’m counting on you.
Be the VOICE you are destined to be.
