Before I start, I want to give a big shout out to our wonderful Michelle for the invitation. It takes humility, trust, and respect to invite someone on your platform.
Therefore, I do not take this chance I have received to share my thoughts on the Surely Michelle Blog for granted. With the overall topic being treated—It’s a Destiny Thing!—my post will tackle the subtopic, “Destined to Represent.”
Destiny is a strong word used by MANY, but understood by FEW, yet important for ALL.
SOME FACTS & DEFINITIONS ABOUT DESTINY:
- Destiny is as strong as a “calling” and it shouldn’t be neglected because it talks about the place you ought to be, the things you have to do and that tells you the way you are supposed to live. (Jeremiah 1:5)
- Destiny is married to PROPHECY because it talks about futuristic things/events that have been predestined to come to pass. (Habbakkuk 2:3)
- In the journey of life, you can only receive revelation concerning your destiny from God if you walk with God. (Jeremiah 33:3)
- The only one who has the overall POWER to change your destiny is God because destiny makes reference to something we ourselves cannot change.
- Destiny will make you go through many emotions, challenges, and battles in life, but the endurance of it all makes you a champion because it will all work out for your good. (Romans 8:28)
DESTINED TO REPRESNT
The word Christian itself shows who we are representing here on earth. As known by many, being a Christian means to be a follower of Christ.
According to Romans 8:28, we are called according to God´s purpose.
That means, were formed, created and called by Him and for Him.
We often at times see it as impossible to represent Christ completely, especially in our current generation. We see the challenges and temptations around us as hinderances and that usually brings out the excuse for us to remain lukewarm and unwilling to serve God genuinely.
But, I am about to break that COMFORTZONE with the words of Jesus….
JOHN 14:12 (nkjv) states,
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
Destined to Represent, in this context, does not just talk about a calling to greater works, but tackles what I like to call the Triple P´s: PURPOSE, PROMISE & PROPHECY.
Hebrews 11:6 makes us understand that, if we come to God we must believe in His existence, therefore we are called believers because we KNOW that CHRIST is Lord.
Based on the sayings of Jesus, what we can take out of this is that we have automatically been EMPOWERED and ENDOWED with the grace and the oil to do the same things Christ did.
What makes the Triple P´s relevant is the words “will do.” If the word would have been replaced with “can do” or “might do” it would have been an OPTION or a POSSIBILITY.
But Jesus said, we “will do” greater works, so that makes it an OBLIGATION.
In a local Ghanaian dialect, “Twi, God is described as “Nyansabuakwa Nyame” (All Knowing God). God carries knowledge about the past, the present, and the future.
When Christ made this statement, He knew we would face challenges (past, present, and future), but despite it all He made mention of the fact that we will do the same works He did.
What amazes me is not just the fact that we will do the same, but we are even called for GREATER WORKS than Christ did!
It tells us that Christ sees us as worthy and capable to be his representatives.
What does that further tell us, my brothers and sisters?
WE HAVE NO EXCUSE. WE ARE DESTINED TO REPRESENT.
If you don’t know your giftings, talents, strengths and/or abilities your minimum standard is to do the very things that Christ did.
Know that from today, you are an AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST.
As you call yourself a Christian, don’t just carry the name but live out the name because ambassadors don’t misbehave or get to act anyhow.
Ambassadors are distinguished personalities who carry themselves with dignity and honor.
BEHAVIOUR, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES OF AN AMBASSADOR
As the word, “Christ” means, “the ANOINTED,” I can confidently quote to you in the words of ISAIAH for you to know the impact of the name of Christ—The Anointed—in your life. That will ignite the fire in you to be a proper AMBASSADOR!
Isaiah 61:1(nkjv) says,
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
As an Ambassador of “the Anointed,” you have been anointed.
Go out and REPRESENT Christ like never before!
Preach good tidings to the ones that are poor!
Go out and Heal the Sick and Brokenhearted!
Go out and Proclaim Liberty to the Captives!
Go out and make the Blind See!
The only one who had the ability to do that in history has given that mantle to you.
From the moment he went to the Father it became our duty to continue the work that He started.
The anointing gives us the ability to be LICENSED AMBASSADORS.
That is what we call the UNCTION to FUNCTION.
As Ambassadors and Representatives of God´s Kingdom, let us promote CHRIST with all that we are and all that we have!
Keep in mind, it is the duties of an ambassador to patronize, promote and represent the interest of their countries wherever they go! Anyone who does otherwise will be dismissed from office!
I pray that everyone reading this will be empowered to know that
WE ARE DESTINED FOR GREATNESS
WE ARE DESTINED TO REPRESENT HIM
in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
THE LORD BLESS YOU!
